Our "secret sauce” is that we’re with you at every step of the GAIP Journey
The Global Academic Internship Programme (GAIP), in collaboration with the School of Computing, National University of Singapore (NUS), is the world’s first experiential, on-campus academic internship in big data Analytics, deep learning, generative ai, and quantum computing. This innovative programme combines rigorous learning with real-world applications, preparing participants to lead in tomorrow’s technological landscape.
A Transformative Opportunity for Engineering Undergraduates and Graduates
GAIP is designed for engineering undergraduates across the globe, offering immersive exposure in the world-class NUS campus on cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), deep learning (DL), generative ai and quantum computing.
Aligning with New-Age Needs
GAIP has evolved over the last 9 years to meet the demands of emerging technologies and now offers 3 specialized modules, each lasting 10 days at NUS, Singapore campus:
1.GAIP Intermediate: Big Data Analytics with Deep Learning
2.GAIP Advanced: Applied Machine Learning with Generative AI
3.GAIP Expert: Deep Learning with Quantum Computing
Participants can enroll through a prerequisite test and interview as part of the selection process.
Global Impact Since 2016
Since 2016, GAIP has empowered over 1,500 students from 150+ universities worldwide and is currently in its 19th edition in 2025. GAIP alumni report that 80% of the curriculum is advanced and new, aligning with their goals of pursuing MS programmes and careers in Data Science and AI. The programme fosters global collaboration, creating a vibrant network of ambitious learners and leaders.
Shaping Future Innovators
GAIP, part of Corporate Gurukul’s vision, revolutionizes education by creating empathetic global leaders. Its experiential approach ensures participants are prepared for real-world challenges, advanced studies, and impactful careers. Dr. TAN Wee Kek is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Systems & Analytics at the School of Computing, National University of Singapore. He is also a Fellow of the prestigious NUS Teaching Academy. He graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy in Information Systems in July 2013, and a Bachelor of Computing in Information Systems (1st Class Honours) in July 2007, both from the National University of Singapore. Prior to this, he attended Singapore Polytechnic, and graduated with a Diploma in Computer Information Systems with Merit in July 2001.
His current primary research interests focus on consumer-based information technology (e.g., online decision aids, social computing, virtual worlds, and consumer cloud services). Most of his research is based on design science, a well-established problem-solving paradigm that has been widely adopted in information systems research. His current secondary research interests focus on information systems education.
His work has been published or is forthcoming in journals such as Journal of the American Society for Information Science, and Technology (JASIST), Decision Support Systems (DSS), Communications of the Association for Information Systems (CAIS), and Journal of Information Systems Education (JISE). His work has also been presented or is forthcoming in conferences such as ACM SIGMIS Computer Personnel Research Conference (SIGMIS-CPR), IFIP Working Group 8.2 Working Conference (IFIP WG8.2), European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS), Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS), and International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction (ICHCI).
